18 Week Update

18 weeks! This pregnancy is almost half over! Time is passing quickly, but it also seems to move so slowly. I am feeling the baby move a lot, but I can’t wait until I can really feel the baby all day every day. I can’t wait for My Love and Bunny to feel the baby move. I love being pregnant. I want to hurry up and get to about 22 weeks then slow down time. Feeling the baby move is the best part about being pregnant. I can’t wait to find out the gender of this baby! I am pretty sure he is a he, but I could be wrong. I want to know so we can finally decide on a name or two for a boy. If he is a she, we already know what her name will be.

I am still struggling to eat, which is so weird for me. When I was pregnant with Bunny I ate everything. I mean everything! I was hungry ALL the time and would eat just about anything, once I was in the second trimester. With this pregnancy, nothing really sounds good. And what does sound good today, won’t sound good tomorrow. I still crave salad, but not the salad at my house haha. Salad from a restaurant is much tastier. I still haven’t gained much, if any weight. I was 20 pounds over my normal, pre Bunny weight before I got pregnant this time. I know I am okay weight wise, but I can’t help but worry.

Other than that, I am feeling great and loving being pregnant! I don’t have too many aches and pains yet and I love feeling the baby move!

17 week update

17 weeks! It feels like I have been pregnant for a long time, yet I am not even half way there! I have been feeling pretty good recently. I am still hungry and eating more! No real cravings, they change every few days. The only consistent craving is salad. Any kind of salad. I LOVE salad! I am also craving food someone else makes 🙂 Not having to prepare food is the best gift ever!

My pelvis has been achy recently. When I was pregnant with Bunny my pelvis was crazy and hurt me occasionally. I could always lay down and have my hips pop back into place. If that didn’t work, My Love would pull on my legs and that would help. With the baby, however, since the day I got pregnant I have been feeling my pelvis more. My midwife suggested I see a chiropractor, and I did just that today. I feel good, not 100% better, but definitely a little better. I have never gone to a chiropractor before and did not realize you are supposed to go at least two times a month while pregnant. At least, that is what my friends have said they did. Who knew! The main difference I have noticed is I am feeling my baby move more. The past few days I haven’t felt as much movement from my little baby, but it is pretty early in my pregnancy to be feeling any movement. I do have a doppler at home and have been checking on the baby’s heart beat every day, so I know the baby is doing well. Since I have seen the chiropractor, I have felt my baby move much more than I have in the past few days. I guess the chiropractic care is working! Hopefully seeing a chiropractor, along with my midwife, will help this baby to be in the right position.

I am loving being pregnant! I love how my body looks when I am pregnant, I love feeling the baby move. I really truly LOVE being pregnant. Bunny and I are nursing three to four times a day. I love nursing Bunny. I hope I can tandem nurse. Bunny will wean when she is ready, and I know I will be sad whenever that day comes. If she weans before the baby is here, great. If she weans after the baby is born, great. Before I got pregnant with Bunny, I never thought I would nurse a baby this long, but I am so glad I decided to let her self wean. I am so excited for the birth of this baby and for Bunny to be a big sister. I can’t wait for My Love and Bunny to be able to feel the baby move!

16 Week Update

I am 16 weeks! Only 4 more weeks until we find out if this baby is a boy, like I think he is! I am so excited. I don’t care either way, girl or boy is a okay with me! I am feeling a LOT better. The nausea is almost non existent, and I am finally hungry! Yay! Hopefully I will start gaining some weight. Bunny is doing great. She knows not to bounce on mama any more, and to be careful around my belly. She knows where the baby is on my body, and that the baby is in my womb. We haven’t talked about the birth yet, but we have plenty of time for that! I think she is too little to really understand it. We are planning on a natural birth, with a labor tub. I am not opposed to giving birth in the tub, but I am not adamant that I must give birth in the tub.
I am absolutely thrilled with my midwives. They are wonderful. I love my OBGYN as well, I have no complaints about her. She is the best OBGYN I have had, and I love her nurse! I am very excited to have this baby! I didn’t have any labor with Bunny, she was an immediate c-section. I am VERY excited to labor naturally!

Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Advanced Sound System Belt Review

Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Advanced Sound System Belt is not only a pregnancy belt, it is also a sound system for your unborn baby. Ritmo is a stretchy, supportive, washable pregnancy belt with a sound system built in. Research has shown that listening to music in the womb can have a stimulating effect on your baby’s brain. I know the songs I listened to when I was pregnant with Bunny were very familiar and soothing to her after she was born.

Want to learn more about the science behind Ritmo?

Ritmo uses a high quality surround sound system with four mini speakers that are split up in four areas of the belt. This makes sure sound is not focused on one area of your womb and allows the baby to hear the sound no matter what position they are in. Ritmo speakers are specifically engineered for the womb and deliver the highest quality sound at a safe listening level.  Ritmo is not just for music. You can prerecord anything you would like your baby to hear, and play it for them using Ritmo. You can record your voice, or the voice of a loved one singing lullabies, reading a story, or just talking. This helps your baby to recognize and be comforted by these voices, songs, or stories after birth. Ritmo would be especially wonderful for those mothers who’s significant other is gone during the pregnancy for whatever reason, or for surrogates.

Ritmo works with most phones and MP3 players. Ritmo has a belt extender which allows you to use Ritmo during any stage of your pregnancy. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and do not need the belt extender yet. Ritmo is very comfortable and easy to use. When you first open Ritmo there is a little bit of assembly required. Mine came with the speakers already installed, but there is an instruction booklet telling you how to install the speakers if needed. Ritmo is washable, which is a wonderful feature. You can remove the speakers to wash your Ritmo. There are three wires in Ritmo that you need to find. They are pretty easy to locate. There are two wires in the left pocket and one wire in the right pocket. You need to unzip Ritmo and thread the one wire from the right pocket over to the left pocket. Once you have done that, you can connect the wires to audio controller. After you have done this, you are ready to go!

Ritmo comes with a carrying case, which is great for traveling! You can store your Ritmo inside the mesh storage case in between uses as well.

Ritmo Advanced comes with a an audio controller which allows you to listen to the music with your baby via headphones. You can also have phone calls with those you love and let the baby listen in.

Ritmo is very comfortable to wear. Ritmo can be worn sitting, standing, laying down or while you are out and about.

Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Advanced Sound System Belt can be purchased for $139.95 online. Ritmo makes a great baby shower present!

12 Week Ultrasound!

We had a 12 week genetic ultrasound today! I must admit I only did the genetic testing because of the ultrasound. In just one week my little bean has grown so much! He is so big and so perfect! Every part of his body is there. Every single part. We saw his arms and hands, his legs and feet. His profile. It was wonderful and amazing. I am so blessed. I have started feeling him move. When I lay on my side to nurse Bunny, I can feel my sweet little baby moving inside of me. It is the best feeling ever. I love being pregnant, despite the nausea. I am still nauseated all day and night. I had hoped it would have faded by now, but the nausea is still there. Maybe next week I will feel better!

11 Week Doctors Appointment

Our 11 week doctors appointment went well! We got to see our little bean again! He (I think he is a boy) is growing so much! My little baby is getting bigger! I am still incredibly nauseated. I am hoping this subsides soon. I haven’t gained any weight yet, but I am not concerned. I didn’t lose all the weight from Bunny, so I have a few pounds to spare. I do hope my appetite returns soon. I want to grow a healthy baby. Right now my cravings are salad. Unfortunately salad doesn’t keep me full for very long. I try to sneak chicken in my salad, but I am not too fond of meat right now. The other food items that sound good are fried cheese sticks and smoothies. Mexican food is also sometimes appetizing. I wish I could afford to eat out at every meal! Preparing food makes me sick. Hopefully in a week or two I will feel much better!

First Doctors Appointment

Our first doctors appointment went well! Based on dates we should be 8 weeks pregnant, but we are really 6 weeks pregnant. I am not surprised the dates are wrong because I am nursing Bunny. We had an ultrasound and saw our tiny little baby! All we could really see was a blob, but it is a beautiful blob! I am feeling very nauseated all day and night. I did not feel nauseated with Bunny until I was 8 weeks along. I can’t wait to tell our family! We will tell the world after our next appointment, around 11 weeks. I am so excited for Bunny to be a big sister!
